Rep. Slaughter Releases Letter from Denmark on Non-therapeutic Use of Antimicrobials

Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter, Chair of the House Rules Committee, released a letter from the Danish Technical University, which discussed that country's experience with stopping non-therapeutic use of antimicrobials in food animals. Earlier this year Slaughter introduced the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act, which would limit the use of antibiotics in animal feed. The letter strongly debunks the claim from some opponents of the bill that its passage would hurt the farm industry.
